We engrave rings, bracelets, bangles, necklaces, pendants, cufflinks, tie clips and silverware. If you’re unsure whether a particular item is suitable, bring it in and we’ll happily advise.
We work in a wide range of styles, from classical hand-cut script to Roman block letters. We can also engrave decorative patterns, monograms and seal engraving or crests on signet rings or silver items.
Hand engraving, monograms and bespoke seal work typically take two to three weeks, depending on complexity.
No appointment is necessary. Drop into either of our Edinburgh stores during opening hours to discuss your engraving in person — we’ll help you choose a style and provide a clear quotation before any work begins.
Yes. We’re very happy to engrave pieces purchased elsewhere, including gifts and heirlooms. Each item is examined first to confirm the metal and the surface area are suitable for the engraving you have in mind.
In most cases existing engraving can be polished out and the piece re-engraved, provided the metal is thick enough. We’ll assess the item and let you know what’s achievable without affecting its structural integrity.
Engraving can occasionally affect the value of antique items, particularly those with original inscriptions or maker’s marks. We’ll always flag this risk before proceeding, so you can make an informed decision.
