Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of items do you buy?

We purchase fine jewellery in gold and platinum, antique and vintage pieces, sterling silverware and prestigious watch brands in good working condition. If you’re unsure whether your item is suitable, bring it in — we’re always happy to take a look.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No appointment is necessary. Visit either of our branches during opening hours and we will personally assess your items and discuss the options with you.

How is the offer calculated?

Our offers are based on current market conditions, the prevailing precious metal price, condition, maker, period and demand. For gem-set pieces we also factor in stone quality and any accompanying certification.

How quickly can I be paid?

If you accept our offer, payment is made same day — by cheque or by bank transfer. There’s no waiting period and no obligation to accept.

Can I part-exchange against another piece?

Yes. We’re happy to offer part-exchange against anything in our current collection, which often results in a more favourable figure than an outright sale.

What documentation should I bring?

Any paperwork you have — certificates, valuations, original receipts or service records — helps the assessment, particularly for branded watches and certified diamonds. We’ll also need to see photographic ID to comply with our anti-money-laundering obligations.

What happens if my items aren’t suitable for your stock?

If a piece isn’t right for our collection, we’ll advise you honestly on the most appropriate route — whether that’s a specialist auction house, a refiner or another dealer. Our goal is to make sure you receive a fair outcome either way.

Is the process confidential?

Yes. All purchases and part-exchanges are handled with complete discretion. Your details and the items themselves are kept strictly confidential.
