18ct Gold Art Deco Opal and Diamond Cluster Ring, Circa 1935

£2,950

An enchanting Art Deco ring dating to circa 1935, centred by a beautiful oval opal displaying a vibrant play of iridescent colours, with flashes of blues, greens and other captivating hues that shift beautifully with the light.
The opal is elegantly bezel set in 18ct white gold and finished with delicate milgrain detailing, creating a refined frame around the luminous central stone. Surrounding the opal is a graceful scalloped halo of old-cut diamonds, adding sparkle and enhancing the soft, colourful character of the opal. The diamonds have an approximate total weight of 0.30 carat and are graded approximately I/J colour and SI clarity. The diamond setting is further enhanced by intricate milgrain decoration, characteristic of the fine craftsmanship of the Art Deco period.
The stones are set in 18ct white gold, contrasting beautifully with the 18ct yellow gold shank, creating an elegant two-tone effect and adding warmth to the design.
With its combination of luminous opal, antique-cut diamonds, delicate milgrain work and contrasting gold, this charming ring captures the elegance and artistry of the 1930s. A beautiful and distinctive addition to any fine jewellery collection.
