Antique Victorian 18ct Gold Five Stone 0.80ct Sapphire and 0.40ct Diamond Ring, Circa 1875

£3,950

This exquisite Victorian five-stone ring, crafted in 18ct yellow gold circa 1875, is a striking example of antique jewellery, combining rich colour, sparkling diamonds and intricate craftsmanship.
The front of the ring features three oval sapphires, beautifully graduated in size with the largest sapphire positioned centrally, creating a classic and balanced five-stone design. Each sapphire is claw set, allowing the stones to capture and reflect the light beautifully, with an approximate combined sapphire weight of 0.80ct.
Nestled between the sapphires are two old-cut diamonds, their softly irregular antique facets lending an enchanting, lively sparkle and characteristic period charm. Surrounding the principal stones are eight rose-cut diamonds adding further flashes of brilliance across the gallery and shoulders, with an approximate combined diamond weight of 0.40ct.
The ring is particularly captivating from every angle, with an intricately carved gallery providing an ornate and highly decorative finish beneath the gemstones.
The warm, mellow tone of the 18ct yellow gold beautifully complements the deep blue sapphires and scintillating diamonds, while the wonderfully detailed construction is testament to the artistry of the Victorian period.
Elegant, romantic and full of antique character, this exceptional ring would make a beautiful antique engagement ring, or a wonderful addition to any fine jewellery collection.
