Victorian 18ct Gold Ruby and Diamond Marquise Cluster Ring

An 18ct yellow gold ruby and diamond cluster ring. This elegant marquise-shaped ring dates back to the Victorian era, circa 1875. This ring features a trio of round rubies at its centre, framed by a cluster of 12 old-cut diamonds.

The centre ruby is the largest and is set between two smaller rubies which are stacked above and below it. They are a vibrant rich red which is perfectly complemented by their warm yellow gold setting. The diamond cluster forms the marquise shape of the piece and brightens the ring with a glimmering sparkle. Each diamond is intricately placed in a yellow gold pavé setting.

The shank of the ring is also made of 18ct gold. At the shoulders it is set with two rubies, a lovely touch which really sets this ring apart. Each ruby is set into the shoulders and framed by a raised square shaped setting.

Finally, the setting of the ring is surrounded by a millgrain edge, tiny metal beads which frame the diamonds. This not only adds to the elegance of the ring, but also highlights the craftsmanship and attention to detail considered when designing the piece.
