Description
This exquisite antique ring, dating to circa 1870, is a beautiful example of Victorian jewellery, crafted in 18ct yellow gold.
The ring features a finely carved gallery with elegant scrolling and foliate-inspired decoration, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship typical of the period.
Across the front are three oval cabochon opals, each displaying beautiful flashes of green, blue and iridescent colour.
The opals are complemented by four old cut diamonds, with a combined approximate weight of 0.40ct. The diamonds are estimated to be H/I in colour and VS in clarity, adding a lovely sparkle and contrast to the colourful opals and warm yellow gold.
The shoulders are further enhanced with delicate carved and scrolling details, adding to the ring's distinctive Victorian character.
The combination of the carved gallery, softly patinated gold, old cut diamonds and naturally vibrant opals gives this ring a wonderful sense of age and individuality.
A charming and beautifully crafted antique ring, it would make a wonderful addition to any fine jewellery collection.
